How do I update my domain name ?
Below we describe how you should go about changing the information stored in the WHOIS database, i.e. address details, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.
We would also like to point out that you are contractually obliged to keep your details up to date, as specified in our general terms and conditions for end users. DNS reserves the right to withdraw the domain name if your details are not correct. This is also important for you, since we may attempt to contact you - for example, if we require your consent to a change of agents.

From 15 October 2002 a change of domain name holder can be done through the TRADE-DOMAIN transaction (only with consent of both parties).
How do I update my details?
The contact person (holder) of the domain name should approach his agent with the request that his details be amended. You cannot apply directly to DNS; only your agent has the authority to amend details. If you do not know who your agent is, you can use our (WHOIS) search function to find out. You will find the search tool at the top of this page.
Monitored update
However, there is a small category of changes that cannot be done using a simple update. What to do for example in case of a name change or correction of typos or omissions?In order to change a company name (for business domain names) or a personal name (for private domain names), without there being any question of a transfer to a new holder, it is possible to request a "monitored update" with your registrar. The registrar can then modify the requested fields without having to launch a trade. This update, however, can only be executed once DNS BE has checked and authorized it, after having received evidentiary documents such as an extract from the Belgian Official Gazette or a copy of the identity card. This transaction is particularly cost-effective if more domain names belong to the same holder (and thus to the same contact). Modifying the one single contact will be sufficient for all of its domain names to be adjusted at minimal costs.
